فَحَقَّ
عَلَيۡنَا
قَوۡلُ
رَبِّنَآۖ
إِنَّا
لَذَآئِقُونَ
٣١

The decree of our Lord has come to pass against us ˹all˺: we will certainly taste ˹the punishment˺.

37:32

فَأَغۡوَيۡنَٰكُمۡ

إِنَّا

كُنَّا

غَٰوِينَ

٣٢

We caused you to deviate, for we ourselves were deviant.”

37:33

فَإِنَّهُمۡ

يَوۡمَئِذٖ

فِي

ٱلۡعَذَابِ

مُشۡتَرِكُونَ

٣٣

Surely on that Day they will ˹all˺ share in the punishment.

37:34

إِنَّا

كَذَٰلِكَ

نَفۡعَلُ

بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

٣٤

That is certainly how We deal with the wicked.

37:35

إِنَّهُمۡ

كَانُوٓاْ

إِذَا

قِيلَ

لَهُمۡ

لَآ

إِلَٰهَ

إِلَّا

ٱللَّهُ

يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ

٣٥

For whenever it was said to them ˹in the world˺, “There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Allah,” they acted arrogantly

37:36

وَيَقُولُونَ

أَئِنَّا

لَتَارِكُوٓاْ

ءَالِهَتِنَا

لِشَاعِرٖ

مَّجۡنُونِۭ

٣٦

and argued, “Should we really abandon our gods for a mad poet?”

37:37

بَلۡ

جَآءَ

بِٱلۡحَقِّ

وَصَدَّقَ

ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

٣٧

In fact, he came with the truth, confirming ˹earlier˺ messengers.

37:38

إِنَّكُمۡ

لَذَآئِقُواْ

ٱلۡعَذَابِ

ٱلۡأَلِيمِ

٣٨

You will certainly taste the painful torment,

وَمَا

تُجۡزَوۡنَ

إِلَّا

مَا

كُنتُمۡ

تَعۡمَلُونَ

٣٩

and will only be rewarded for what you used to do.

37:40

إِلَّا

عِبَادَ

ٱللَّهِ

ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

٤٠

But not the chosen servants of Allah.
