قُلۡ
تَرَبَّصُواْ
فَإِنِّي
مَعَكُم
مِّنَ
ٱلۡمُتَرَبِّصِينَ
٣١

Say, “Keep waiting! I too am waiting with you.”

أَمۡ

تَأۡمُرُهُمۡ

أَحۡلَٰمُهُم

بِهَٰذَآۚ

أَمۡ

هُمۡ

قَوۡمٞ

طَاغُونَ

٣٢

Or do their ˹intelligent˺ minds prompt them to this ˹paradox˺?¹ Or are they ˹just˺ a transgressing people?

52:33

أَمۡ

يَقُولُونَ

تَقَوَّلَهُۥۚ

بَل

لَّا

يُؤۡمِنُونَ

٣٣

Or do they say, “He made this ˹Quran˺ up!”? In fact, they have no faith.

52:34

فَلۡيَأۡتُواْ

بِحَدِيثٖ

مِّثۡلِهِۦٓ

إِن

كَانُواْ

صَٰدِقِينَ

٣٤

Let them then produce something like it, if what they say is true!¹

52:35

أَمۡ

خُلِقُواْ

مِنۡ

غَيۡرِ

شَيۡءٍ

أَمۡ

هُمُ

ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَ

٣٥

Or were they created by nothing, or are they ˹their own˺ creators?

52:36

أَمۡ

خَلَقُواْ

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَۚ

بَل

لَّا

يُوقِنُونَ

٣٦

Or did they create the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no certainty.

52:37

أَمۡ

عِندَهُمۡ

خَزَآئِنُ

رَبِّكَ

أَمۡ

هُمُ

ٱلۡمُصَۜيۡطِرُونَ

٣٧

Or do they possess the treasuries of your Lord, or are they in control ˹of everything˺?

52:38

أَمۡ

لَهُمۡ

سُلَّمٞ

يَسۡتَمِعُونَ

فِيهِۖ

فَلۡيَأۡتِ

مُسۡتَمِعُهُم

بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ

مُّبِينٍ

٣٨

Or do they have a stairway, by which they eavesdrop ˹on the heavens˺? Then let those who do so bring a compelling proof.

52:39

أَمۡ

لَهُ

ٱلۡبَنَٰتُ

وَلَكُمُ

ٱلۡبَنُونَ

٣٩

Or does He have daughters ˹as you claim˺, while you ˹prefer to˺ have sons?¹

52:40

أَمۡ

تَسۡـَٔلُهُمۡ

أَجۡرٗا

فَهُم

مِّن

مَّغۡرَمٖ

مُّثۡقَلُونَ

٤٠

Or are you ˹O Prophet˺ asking them for a reward ˹for the message˺ so that they are overburdened by debt?
