وَلَقَدۡ
ضَلَّ
قَبۡلَهُمۡ
أَكۡثَرُ
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
٧١

And surely most of the earlier generations had strayed before them,

37:72

وَلَقَدۡ

أَرۡسَلۡنَا

فِيهِم

مُّنذِرِينَ

٧٢

although We had certainly sent warners among them.

37:73

فَٱنظُرۡ

كَيۡفَ

كَانَ

عَٰقِبَةُ

ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ

٧٣

See then what was the end of those who had been warned.

37:74

إِلَّا

عِبَادَ

ٱللَّهِ

ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

٧٤

But not the chosen servants of Allah.

37:75

وَلَقَدۡ

نَادَىٰنَا

نُوحٞ

فَلَنِعۡمَ

ٱلۡمُجِيبُونَ

٧٥

Indeed, Noah cried out to Us, and how excellent are We in responding!

37:76

وَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ

وَأَهۡلَهُۥ

مِنَ

ٱلۡكَرۡبِ

ٱلۡعَظِيمِ

٧٦

We delivered him and his family¹ from the great distress,

37:77

وَجَعَلۡنَا

ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ

هُمُ

ٱلۡبَاقِينَ

٧٧

and made his descendants the sole survivors.¹

37:78

وَتَرَكۡنَا

عَلَيۡهِ

فِي

ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

٧٨

And We blessed him ˹with honourable mention˺ among later generations:

37:79

سَلَٰمٌ

عَلَىٰ

نُوحٖ

فِي

ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

٧٩

“Peace be upon Noah among all peoples.”

37:80

إِنَّا

كَذَٰلِكَ

نَجۡزِي

ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ

٨٠

Indeed, this is how We reward the good-doers.
